
Anthony David Gonzalez was conceived in Torrance on February 27th of 1976. He was born in the southern part of California. He was a student at Huntington Beach High School and was a top football and basketball player. Gonzalez continued to be a star in these sports at the University of California, Berkeley. He played a key role in leading the football team to the 1996 Aloha Bowl. There, Gonzalez set a record in the school for receiving nine receptions and beat it. Gonzalez also led the basketball team to Sweet 16 in the NCAA basketball tournament just a few months after. He then left school to join the 1997 NFL Draft. Gonzalez was picked as the 13th overall selection by the Kansas City Chiefs. Gonzalez played for the Chiefs from 1997 until the year 2008. The Chiefs traded Gonzalez to the Atlanta Falcons. After Gonzalez's first NFL season, he completed at least 59 passes per season.
