Dennings was with her "2 Broke Girls" co-star, Nick Zano, from the year 2011 until 2014. The couple began to date Josh Groban shortly after they split up. Together they remained until 2016. Dennings got to know the musician Andrew W.K. at the beginning of 2021. After a short time they began to meet and by the end of May 2020, they announced their wedding. Dennings had been a big fan of the singer from 2014 onwards. Though Dennings was Jewish, she has stated that she identifies more with the religion on an ethnic as well as a cultural basis and does not make religion an active part of her life. Dennings has many activities, which include gardening, reading and painting. She was planning to enroll in an art college in the past, but her plan was ruined by a flooding that damaged her portfolio. Then she decided to interpret the experience as a warning and pursue acting. She does not drink or smoke and enjoys practicing Transcendental Meditation.
